Each yarn weight has a number range of stitches-per-inch the thicker your yarn is, the fewer stitches-per-inch you will have. The first thing you'll want to consider is the weight of the yarn you're using for your hat. Why is this so tricky, you might ask? Well, it comes down to several different factors that can all determine the final count of stitches your particular pattern will require. Now comes the tricky part - figuring out how many stitches to cast on. You should know how to cast on, knit, purl, sew a seam and read and follow instructions. Show proof of purchase to staff and ask them to remove the item from stock.
